The Bobolink is a grassland bird that has been a favorite of William Cullen Bryant, Emily Dickinson, and many other poets. In this presentation, David Spector will discuss Bobolink poems, Bobolink biology, and their relationship. If the weather is good, after the presentation we will step outside to attempt to see and hear some of the descendants of the bobolinks celebrated by Bryant. About the presenter: David Spector teaches biology at Central Connecticut State University and is former board president of the Hitchcock Center for the Environment. He is an ornithologist with an interest in birds in literature.
